Greetings, my name is Gæira Aggadóttir, my SCA* persona is a 9-10th Century Icelandic Viking, Goldsmith and Metalsmith. I was a Goldsmith for ten years in RL, and after an 12 year hiatus I returned to my love of jewelry as well as discovering a strong passion for fiber arts.
I live in the
Barony de l'Ile du Dragon Dormant (IDD), in the Crown Principality of Tir Mara, in the East Kingdom of the Society for Creative Anachronism* (SCA). [IDD on Facebook]

The Term 'Period'
Within the SCA, the term 'period' is used to mean pre-17th century (pre-1600's). I use the term as 'short hand' several times on my website.

IDD Metalsmiths’ Guild
In March 2013, I founded the L'Ile du Dragon Dormant Metalsmiths' Guild (IDD Metalsmiths' Guild or IDDMG), a SCA Arts and Sciences group located in Barony de l'Ile du Dragon Dormant (IDD).
I created a resource website with links and addresses to locally based schools, stores and clubs. There are separate sections for jewelry, leather crafts, needle work and soon several others.
l'Ile du Dragon Dormant, means Island of the Sleeping Dragon.
Montréal, "Originally called Ville-Marie, or "City of Mary",[7] it is named after Mount Royal,[8] the triple-peaked hill located in the heart of the city, or Mont Réal as it was spelled in Middle French[9] (Mont Royal in modern French)." SOURCE
"The Monteregian Hills, which share a name with the city of Montreal in Quebec, Canada, are the eroded remnants of volcanoes that are the oldest volcanoes of the hotspot track: they were active about 125 million years ago." SOURCE
